International Peculiarities of Finance
Internationality is an important component of the Master's programme in Finance. The Master Finance
- is offered 100% in English,
- includes an integrated semester abroad and
- offers you the opportunity to complete a second international degree (Double Degree) at one of around 190 partner universities.
With the Finance Master you will get to know the regional characteristics of the international financial market and at the same time acquire general and specific foreign language skills.

Thrilled by Boston
Moritz Petri spent five months at Boston University for his Finance Master semester abroad. The USA fan also uses the proximity to Canada, New York, Washington and Chicago to discover the country. "We really experienced a lot and had a lot of fun together," says Petri. He also enjoyed studying at Boston University. "The five months were legendary! I got to know many new people and cultures, mastered challenges and made important contacts".
How Can I Apply?
In order to be able to study the Financial Management Master at ISM, the university conducts an internal entrance test. This tests your personality as well as your motivation and skills. The Master of Finance is not restricted by a “Numerus Clausus” (NC).

ISM awards DAAD Prize
For more than ten years, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has been awarding a prize for outstanding achievements of foreign students at German universities.The 21-year-old Annika Razroeva graduated from the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow with a bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics and Accounting and then specifically searched for an international finance degree abroad. Since the winter semester 2014/2015 she has been studying at the ISM Dortmund in M.Sc. Finance.
The studies at the ISM are designed to successfully close the gap between theory and practice. The professors are experts in their field and offer comprehensive access to all topics that provide students with the necessary skills for the real world of finance. Studying at ISM as an international student was a great experience that I will always remember. The relationship with fellow students and professors was unique.
