Studying Financial Management
A Bachelor in Finance & Management offers you a wealth of information in the field of business and economics fundamentals on one hand, and financial management, on the other. Whether you are interested in financial planning, business taxation or corporate finance - the undergraduate program Bachelor of Finance combines the classic economics principles of business administration studies with extensive knowledge on the management of the financial sector.
The Bachelor of Finance teaches you about the core subjects of the finance world: among other, you will get to know principles of finance, accounting, financial products and how companies operate on global capital and financial markets. With the Bachelor of Finance program, you will also acquire know-how in finance topics such as corporate finance, financial management and reporting. During the last two semesters you will additionally gain more in-depth knowledge of subjects such as controlling or consulting projects, mergers and acquisitions or international financial management such as portfolio & assets.
If you decide to pursue a financial management degree at ISM, your will also enjoy compulsory internships in Germany and abroad, interesting hands-on consulting projects, workshops and a permanent contact with experienced lecturers from the financial management and business world.

Getting to Know International Financial Markets
Studying Finance & Management means not only acquiring business knowledge, but also understanding the structures of the global financial markets.
In order to prepare you for a career in international financial management, the Bachelor of Finance comprises
- intensive language training in German, Italian, French or Spanish,
- an integrated semester abroad at one of our over 190 partner universities, and
- an optional second semester abroad (if you pick the Global Track)
Studying finance at ISM also means taking part in many practical projects and benefitting from a continuous direct exchange with the business world. How Can I Apply for a Bachelor in Finance and Management?
Is studying finance something for you and is a financial management degree a perfect fit? You don't shy away from mathematics, quantitative topics and accounting and have an analytical mind? You're known for keeping track of things and have a passion for numbers, taxes and balance sheets? Then you should consider to study finance!
In order to study Finance & Management at ISM, our university conducts an online entrance exam. A specific numerus clausus (NC) is not required. The online exam tests your mathematics and English skills as well as your motivation to study, while we also learn about your personality and your abilities.

The semester abroad took Tim Prüsener to San Diego during his financial management studies. But the originally planned three months have turned into multiple years. The city on the West Coast of the USA, which is considered to be the start-up Mecca of America, lived up to its name - and turned the ISM student into a successful company founder in the field of marketing.
One of his first clients was Uber. Nowadays he and his team provide their clients with holistic support in areas such as market analysis, preparing profit and loss accounts and online marketing. He gives career starters the tip of always staying “awake” and on the pulse of the times.
What Are My Career Options after Graduation of a Finance Bachelor?
Thanks to digitalization, the finance industry has developed new and interesting positions for career starters and experienced professionals in the investment and banking sector, in insurance companies or in corporate finance functions for example as financial managers or financial consultants. Due to their business models, banks, financial institutions and insurance companies now offer many typical finance-related services.
Finance know-how is also one of the key qualifications for a career in management. By linking management, business administration, controlling and accounting with finance in your Bachelor degree program, you will be able to score points with hiring managers after graduation.
