Schedule of the Work & Study Program
Practical phase at Motel One Group

You will work 20–25 hours per week at one of the Motel One hotels in selected European cities, where you will learn about all key areas of hotel operations – from front office and housekeeping to the bar. You will also gain valuable insights into key areas such as sales, revenue management, accounting, and HR.

Study in the Digital Campus of ISM

At the same time, you will study hotel management online at ISM's Digital Campus - here you'll have access to learning materials, tutorials, and opportunities to exchange ideas with study coaches and fellow students. 

Graduation

After three years, you will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management and have a solid knowledge of business administration, human resources, revenue management, sustainability, AI, and project development in the hotel industry.

Your path to Motel One

What is particularly important is your enthusiasm for the hotel industry. Ideally, you will already have some practical experience. If not, Motel One will be happy to offer you a pre-study internship so that you can get to know their working methods and corporate culture before you start your studies. Are you a talented organizer who enjoys working independently and has a good command of English? Then you have the ideal qualifications to get started in the program.

Focus on personal exchange

We have developed a special framework for the Work & Study program that promotes networking among participants. From welcome events and practical workshops in Munich to regular online Q&A sessions and specialist lectures, Motel One offers numerous opportunities to learn from each other and build a strong network. The costs of travel, accommodation, and meals in Munich will of course be covered.

Career chances at Motel One

The goal of Motel One is to foster long-term cooperation. Over 70 percent of students stay with Motel One after graduation. Those who show initiative and want to take on responsibility will find excellent development opportunities at Motel One. Many of the graduates quickly move into management positions, for example, as supervisors or department heads at one of the numerous Motel One locations.

How can I apply for the Bachelor of Hotel Management Work & Study program?

To gain entry to the Hotel Management online course at ISM and Motel One you can simply register online for the admission process. Our university will be checking your documents and you will hold a personal online selection interview including a presentation. A specific numerus clausus (NC) is not required in order to apply. The interview assesses your personal motivation to study, while we also learn about your personality and your abilities.

  • Apply with: high-school diploma, vocational diploma or comparable qualification
  • Other application documents: CV, proof of English knowledge (at least B2), copy of ID card.
  • Admission prerequisite: successful participation in the online admission process

How can I work and study Hotel Management?

Work in European Motel One Hotels

The work is part-time (20-25 hours per week) and takes place directly in one of the Motel One hotels in Europe, such as in Vienna, Basel or Zurich. This allows you to gain practical work experience by working in various departments at Motel One, accompanied by experienced professionals. 

Study live online in ISM Digital Campus

The theoretical phases take place at the ISM Digital Campus. The Digital Campus offers you innovative, multimedia learning materials, individual support by study coach and a modular structure for the study content. Additionally, Motel One offers various online trainings.
