Application – Master in Strategic Sports Management
Admission requirements and deadlines
In order to start studying at the International School of Management, please send the documents below by e-mail to your study advisor first.
This is what you need to submit for the initial check of your application:

- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- A successfully completed bachelor's degree (transcript of records) comprising at least 180 ECTS points (for the Fast Track option 210 ECTS points), or
- An equivalent course of study at an university, university of applied sciences or a foreign university of equivalent level, and
- In addition to the general admission requirements, the following examination results must have been achieved in the first degree program:
- Applicants to the program must have completed their first degree (bachelor) in Sports Management or Economics.
- Alternatively, applicants could have successfully completed examinations at Bachelor level or higher studies amounting to at least 30 ECTS points from the subject areas of Economics, Marketing, PR or Market Research.
- Missing subject-specific ECTS points can be replaced by qualified work experience or corresponding internships. If you need more ECTS points, also taking the ISM Pre-Master program (goes for 1 semester and you receive 30 ECTS points) will allow you to acquire missing ECTS.

If you would like to apply, we invite you to please register online for the admission test. You will then receive a confirmation of enrolment to the admission process with a link to our Online Application Portal and the date of your interview.
Deadlines:
We have no fixed applications deadlines here at ISM, but we kindly ask international applicants who require a visa for studying in Germany to submit their application documents by July 15th of the same year.

Admission process
The admission process at ISM currently consists of a case study and an (online) interview with the study program director. You will present your results of the case study in an oral presentation on the day of the admission interview.
Case Study:
After your online registration for the admission process, we will ask you to prepare a case study in the form of a presentation for the day of the personal interview.
This case study presentation can include presenting the main results/summary of your Bachelor's thesis or of an extensive term paper or - alternatively – can be on a predefined case study topic that our study advisors will send you in advance.
(Online) Interview:
The goal of this interview is to get to know you and your personal background better. We look forward to getting to learn about your professional and personal goals and your motivation for your studies. You will hold your case study presentation to the head of degree program during the interview. You can hold the interview online or on campus. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact your study advisor.
Required documents to be submitted
You will receive a link to our Online Application Portal after your registration for the admission process. There you can easily upload the following documents in PDF file format:
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Copy of your national ID card
- Digital passport photo (colored, jpg format, high resolution).
- Letter of motivation
- Certified (authenticated) copy of your first degree certificate (in English or German).
If the certificate is not yet available at the time of application, please submit the current overview of grades of the examinations completed up to this point (transcript of records). If you have obtained an international degree, please contact your student advisors to check if you fulfil admission requirements. - Proof of English language knowledge
For your masters, you can prove your proficiency in the English language as follows:- Certificates: TOEFL (at least a score of 80, internet-based), IELTS (at least 6.0) or Cambridge (FCE) test score or
- A degree in English Studies or
- Have at least 30 ECTS in an English-language higher education program or
- Proof that you are a native speaker (will be assessed on a case-by-case basis).
- Proof of health insurance in Germany (if already available). This can also be submitted at a later time, before you start your studies in Germany.
