Three Days in Hamburg: Real Estate Management Students Explore Property Projects First-Hand
Getting to know different types of real estate and analysing the economic, technical and organisational aspects of current property developments: This was the focus of a three-day field trip to Hamburg for students from the Real Estate Management bachelor’s degree programme. The excursion was organised by Prof. Dr. Natascha Schlömer.
“Observing and evaluating real properties helps students develop a deeper understanding of decision-making processes in real estate management. At the same time, they learn how to critically apply theoretical concepts to real-world cases,” explains the programme director.
The excursion was designed to give students practical experience beyond the classroom, introduce them to current developments in the real estate industry, and provide opportunities to exchange ideas with professionals working in the sector.
The programme included visits to a range of real estate and urban development projects across Hamburg. The trip began with one of the city's most iconic landmarks, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. Students then toured the Kolbenhöfe construction site, where representatives from OTTO WULFF Projektentwicklung provided insights into the development of a major ongoing property project.
