The student group at Fette Compacting

In their practical project, students of the Master’s program M.Sc. Business Intelligence & Data Science have collaborated with Fette Compacting, the world's leading provider of integrated solutions for the industrial manufacture of pharmaceutical tablets. The company specializes in high-performance machinery for the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. Approximately one in two tablets worldwide is manufactured using a Fette Compacting tablet press. The student group’s task: The optimization of the production process should be made easier for pharmaceutical producers. The groups achieved this by developing a dashboard that provides customers with individual recommendations and information about the benefits of choosing a particular tablet press.

"During these two months, we really applied what we have learned at ISM," comments Shih Ding Li. "Additionally, we learned how to work in a team to solve the problem, which from my perspective, is the most valuable lesson."
After finishing the project, the students could present their results to the company representatives. "It was great to see how quickly they got to grips with the topic and how they implemented the task in such a short time to fit our expectations," says Doreen Dunst, Application Specialist at Fette Compacting. In addition, the company offered jobs as working students to the participating students. "Cooperating with industry partners is very important to us," comments ISM teacher Veith Tiemann. "And we really have great partners who value our collaboration."
