Networking in Russian
Living and working in Moscow for three months is one of the most valuable experiences ISM student Maximilian Conrad was able to gain during his studies. "Russia is an interesting market because of its resources," explains the 25-year-old. In the consulting firm CONSORT Group, he has found a provider of internships that has given him plenty of freedom to immerse himself in the Russian working world. "My main tasks included market analysis and the search for candidates according to customer requirements and wishes," explains Maximilian Conrad. In addition, the ISM student, who is studying M.A. International Management in Dortmund, was involved in the selection process. "I prepared interviews in German and English, checked motivation and salary expectations and held interviews with potential candidates.
Maximilian Conrad probably gained the most important experience outside the office. During his stay abroad he lived with a Russian family and learned a lot about life in the capital and Russian culture. "The typical Russian soul, helpful and emotional, impressed me. If you want to get to know it, you have to drive out of the capital and into the surrounding countryside, into the small towns and villages.
