The new MBA students at ISM Dortmund

Do you want to climb to the top of the career ladder and aspire to a management position in business? With a Master of Business Administration in General Management you create the ideal conditions for this. Sophio Chitadze is one of the new part-time MBA students at ISM. The 30-year-old is from Georgia and has completed her Master’s in Economics there. Afterwards, she worked in the Ministry of Education and Science as well as in the hotel and hospitality industry until love brought her to Germany.

Sophio, you have started you studies at ISM Dortmund in March. Why did you choose the MBA program?

When I moved to Germany, I also opened a new career chapter. I have always wanted to do an MBA and now is the perfect time. What I liked about ISM was that the course content and modules abroad directly connect theory and practice. The part-time model was especially important to me because at the moment, as a mother of a one-year-old daughter, I'm managing the most amazing project of my life.

Why is the international focus of the program important to you?

In our globalized world there are no more borders, it is important to have an international network and to be globally competitive. At ISM, internationality does not only refer to the course content and the English-language courses in the MBA. My fellow students come from different countries and we have modules abroad in Hong Kong, India and the USA.

What were your first days at ISM like?

It was a strange feeling to be back in the classroom after seven years. However, we were greeted very warmly and immediately got along well as a group, so the nervousness quickly faded away on the first day. I’m especially happy to have met my fellow students. We are all super-motivated and often exchange thoughts on our practical experience.
