When the Samwer brothers launched the online startup 'Lamudi' in October 2013, its mission was quite clear. The global real estate group was expected to grow as quickly as possible. Mohamed El Akkad, one of the first foreign students at ISM, also makes a significant contribution to this progress. He works as a Regional Online Marketing Manager for the company builders 'Rocket Internet' and ensures optimum traffic on the website of the real estate portal.

Mohamed develops content strategies, monitors competitors and plans new online campaigns to make sure the young venture 'Lamudi' is on the right course for success. An exciting and challenging task in the fast-paced world of online business. What motivates him? "I'm definitely motivated by a desire to accept responsibility and to achieve a set goal within a multicultural team," explains the 27-year-old. His team consists of young people from Spain, Argentina, Indonesia and the Philippines who – just like him – are inspired by the dynamic culture of Berlin's startup scene.

Internationality plays a key role in Mohamed's life. The Egyptian-born businessman completed his Bachelor's degree at the German University in Cairo before enrolling on a master's course in Dortmund. Mohamed El Akkad was one of the first overseas master's students at ISM. "What impressed me most about ISM was its international profile. I had numerous lecturers with international experience who gave the course a unique character."
