During their Summer School, the Indian students at ISM Stuttgart gained a fresh insight into the working practices of the Daimler Group.

A German adventure. This year, roughly 120 students from IILM Delhi once again took part in a Summer School at various ISM campuses. In Dortmund, Hamburg and Stuttgart, the Indian business students spent between three and four weeks discovering university life in Germany and becoming better acquainted with the country and its people.

Besides participating in courses at ISM, the students in ISM Dortmund went on several excursions, including a field trip to pump manufacturer Wilo. They gained an insight into pump production during a guided plant tour and were shown what the 120,000 m² ‘Wilo Campus Dortmund’ will look like after its planned construction in the coming years. Surbhi Dhasmana, a student at IILM Delhi, said: “It was interesting to see which cutting-edge technologies are used here.”

During their stay at the campus in Stuttgart, the Indian guests were treated to a programme of lectures, cultural excursions and company tours. Needless to say, a trip to the home of Mercedes-Benz was a ‘must do’.

The programme for Summer School students at ISM Hamburg included lectures in Strategic Management, International Finance and Social Media Management as well as various excursions. A tour of Hamburg harbour, for instance, provided the guests with the best opportunity to discover the city’s latest landmark, the Elbphilharmonie. “I had a great time at ISM and in Germany,” claims Abhishek. “The people were very friendly and helpful and ensured my trip was a very pleasant and interesting experience.”
