Dr. Gertrud Schink, Director of the International Office, presents visiting student Pan Hu with her scholarship certificate.

Financial aid for studying in Germany: Alvaro Torres from Mexico and Pan Hu from China are spending a semester at ISM Munich and ISM Dortmund respectively. The two visiting students have been awarded a DAAD Contact Scholarship for their excellent academic achievements and involvement in social extra-curricular activities and both receive a monthly sum of €350 for four months.

The DAAD scholarship is intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students who spend part of their studies at partner universities abroad. During his course, Alvaro gained experience in logistics and quality control at a forwarding company and while working for BMW customer services. Furthermore, he organised charity events for his university back in Mexico and provided prospective students with support and advice.

Pan Hu specialises in finance. In addition to her studies at Tsinghua University, she has already completed internships in a start-up and at a consulting firm. She has also participated in research projects and in the Summer Training Programme of the London School of Economics and Political Science and engages in voluntary work.

Pan Hu is delighted with the DAAD Contact Scholarship: “It offers me support to study in Germany and to share in the life of the country and its people. In my work so far, it has given me a boost and spurred me on. I chose ISM for my study exchange mainly because the lecturers have practical experience in their field.”
