Julia at BMW

Are you looking for new challenges? With the MBA program you can develop professionally and personally. That was also Julia Xiong’s goal when starting her studies at ISM Munich. Originally from China, she had already gained professional experience in Spain and Mexico. "I chose Germany as a place to study because my supervisor told me that they have the best management programs there." In her studies, Julia has dealt with the latest management trends and innovations in areas such as marketing and leadership. "I especially liked the practical relevance, it was really learning by doing. Now I am capable to think from the management point of view and that helps me to better understand what our customers need."

The MBA also focuses on students' individual life situations, giving them the opportunity for personal growth. Students receive career counseling from a professional coach as well as tips on communication, conflict and teamwork skills. Julia was also able to benefit from working with her coach: "She gave me very instructive insights from an objective point of view. To be honest, without her help, I wouldn’t have gotten the internship at BMW.” After graduating, Julia now works as an SAP consultant in Munich. "It’s great fun working with my colleagues to build the new prototype and helping our customers improve their workflows and make them more digital." Overall, Julia is convinced that the MBA has advanced her career. Her personal tip for successful studies: "Set clear career goals and keep them in mind before, during and after your studies. And most importantly, don't be afraid to try the things you really want to do."
