Application Procedure at the ISM

As a prospective student at the International School of Management, the first thing you need to do is register online for the admissions process. We will then send you a letter of invitation and a list of all the documents you need to submit.
Alternatively, you can download our application form, complete it and send it to us together with your application documents.

International applicants who require a visa for studying in Germany must submit their application documents by the 15. June (Fall term) or 15 December (Spring term) of the same year.

 

Documents needed

We need the following documents from you:

  • Completed application form.

    We will send you an application form together with the informational material or after you have registered online for the admissions process. Alternatively, you can download our application form.

  • Resume. You need to send us your resume in table format.
  • Two passport photos. Please send us two recent original passport photographs in color (no prints please). You can hand them in until the start of your studies.
  • Letter of motivation. Please give us a concise summary (one A4 page at most) explaining why you would like to study at the ISM and why you think the Admissions Committee should accept your application (in English or German).
  • School-leaving certificate qualifying you to study at a higher education institution. Authenticated (certified) copies of your certificates are required for the admissions process. Either general university entrance qualification for Germany or direct university entrance qualification in home countries through a secondary school leaving certificate obtained there and possibly other entry requirements for the respective home country. Applicants who have not yet received their school-leaving certificate when they apply to study at the International School of Management may submit a copy of their most recent certificate. If they are admitted to the ISM, these applicants should submit an authenticated copy of their school-leaving certificate no later than the date of enrollment.
    Alternatively, prospective students with a special educational background or a particular aptitude in their future field of study can also be admitted under the German Higher Education Act.
  • Work/internship references, if any. If you have already worked or completed any internships, you can also attach the relevant references with your application. However, they are not obligatory for your application.
  • Separate evidence of your foreign language proficiency, if any. If you have any separate certificates of achievement confirming your foreign language proficiency (e.g. TOEFL test), please also submit them to us. However, these certificates are not obligatory for your application to study at the ISM. You may hand them in until the start of your studies.

 

Students who have begun a study program at a different university and wish to continue it at the ISM can have both their credit for study or examinations, and their language skills in English and French/Spanish/German recognized.

Study Profile

The B.Sc. International Management enables students to face the challenges of todays international work environment. In addition to having the ability to successfully present a company in regional locations around the globe, international business managers must be qualified to lead multicultural teams.

Program Content

The International Management Course prepares you for a future leading role in international business due to its international focus and high practical content.

Semester Abroad

Bachelor’s students have the possibility to integrate two semesters abroad in their study program.

Global Track

If you decide in favor of the B.A. International Management Global Track degree program with English Trail as your area of specialization, you will have the opportunity to complete an additional semester of study abroad.

Financing

As a state-recognized, non-profit university the ISM is solely financed by tuition fees. Upon acceptance of a degree course place at the ISM the applicant has to pay an admission fee. Once you are accepted as a student at the ISM you are required to pay enrolment fees, which amount to 600 Euro.
